Alex bought the Javelin in the middle of
2000.
|
 |
Since then he refurbished the Javelin completely.
During 2001 he has attended a few shows in
Scotland. The JBA Javelin drew a lot of attention from the crowds.
You can see some pictures of the shows below.
But what is he up to this winter. The Javelin is
in the garage, hibernating no, it is once again under major
surgery.
Now the engine is out again. For major
improvements for next season.
Alex has decided to fit a Fuel
Injected V8.
Running on LPG gas. |
The first photos show the engine and the second the
cleaning of the parts.
|

|
Alex is never daunted by these major
tasks, in fact he loves it.
However I am a bit confused by this photo.
Why should you need an L
plate Alex?.
|
Also on the agenda is changing the gearbox clutch mechanism to cable
operation, as the hydraulic does not seem to work well enough. Alex is also
thinking of changing the gearbox to a Ford 5 speed.
More details from Alex
to follow as work progresses.

Alex's first run was to a show at
Dunfermline.
The Javelin drew quite a large
crowd Especially when as it was fitted with a V8. engine. |
Strathalan County Park 28th.July 2001.
|
This
show being a Ford show brought even more attention to the car than
the first show.
The public were all over the car as many of them have
never seen, let alone heard of a JBA Javelin.
The fact it is build
No 1 and is fitted with a V8 Engine also helped pull in the crowds. Another
great show with a large selection of many different types and age of
cars to see.

|
This is a new show,
started just this year 2001.and is looking forward to growing in the
next few years.
The show was attended by some very rare and unusual cars which are very rarely seen.
Alex would like to see more of these shows and others, if only to keep the shows alive. Photo below. |
Chatelherault Country
Park Hamilton. 26th.August 2001.
No.1 on it's own. Alex arrived early.
|

|
There was a JBA Falcon present.
I don't know who belongs it Alex. This
show was another great success all classes of cars were there
they even had a large separate field for right up to date modern
cars
with all there mod-cons, body-kits and ICE systems that the modern
day car enthusiasts go for. |
|
Alex was well pleased with the
turnout at Chatelherault.
Wish I had been there to see this
beautiful Humber Super Snipe of the 50s vintage. |
