The Falcons Nest

JBAOC Scone Palace Show Perth Scotland

Farming Yesteryear at Scone Palace

The Scone show was brilliant this year, so much to see and do for all the family.
With plenty of displays of farming techniques from bygone eras, all kind of stalls, hundreds of classic cars of all ages, lorries, fire engines, military vehicles, kit cars.
There was one Falcon that really could fly, better than Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, it was on the birds of prey exhibit.

The weather was windy but sunny and turned out better than the forecast predicted. Line up shows red Tourer, blue Javelin, white Sports SR, red Javelin, red Plus 2.

Dave Tennant's Plus 2.

Always looking very smart.

We had seven cars on the stand, five Falcons and two Javelins The Falcons comprised of two Plus 2's belonging to Dave Tennant and Malcolm Jones. Donald Collier's Tourer,  John Donaldson's TSR and a new member Gordon Jones with his Sports SR. The two Javelins are owned by Alex and Margaret Sargent. The blue Javelin was the first one to be built by JBA and was originally fitted with a 1600cc engine, but Alex has fitted it with a Rover V8.

John and Morag Donaldson's Falcon TSR.

Two members were unable to attend Muzz Crandon was away doing his Hercules Poirot bit. Graeme Mason was over in Egypt, I was looking forward to seeing his Falcon as he has had it resprayed, still in white and fitted all chrome headlamps.

Gordon Jones's Falcon Sports SR.

Nice to meet Gordon and his good lady who travelled up from Dalbeattie. Gordon purchased his Falcon recently through the Cars For Sale page and joined the club after arriving at the show.

The interior of Malcolm Jones's Falcon Plus 2

Malcolm has done a lot of work on his Plus 2 with a new interior.

Malcolm's Falcon Plus 2 in the foreground.

Margaret Sargent's JBA Javelin.

The Javelin still drawing a lot of interest in Scotland from Capri fans.

.

Some lovely old models, a beautiful Ford van.

Remember these Morris vans.

A familiar site on our roads many years ago.

Jaguars had a big display.

Loads of lovely Austins.

A massive range of motor cycles.

Mini's had a nice stand next to ours.

The Scottish Kit Car Club had a huge stand and three of our members are also members of the SKCC.

Their new gazebo was massive.

Now we have usually to go to Stoneleigh to see the Ultima.

There was one here.

Beautiful appointed interior, but you need to be quite agile to get in and out.

Now how's this for an engine.

Still couldn't catch the Falcon though, the one on the birds of prey stand.

In the afternoon we paraded our JBA's round the ring and Christine had a brilliant idea Robbie she said You jump in with Donald and I'll stay here.
It so happened that Donald was the first car in the ring and when the ringmaster approached asking about the cars, the zip closed across Donald's mouth quicker than the zip on the Treasurers purse. I had to jump out and the microphone was thrust into my hand.
Donald thought that I was a better choice having done around 150 pages about JBA Cars.

Guess what I was totally stuck for words all I could say was that they are based on the Cortina, Sierra and Capri, one is a Tourer, this is a Javelin, this is a Plus 2 etc.
Now you know why Christine stayed in the gazebo. Never mind perhaps next year.
